The
Company was founded in 1871 by
Mr. Angelo Belotti, for the
purpose of importing rifles and
general hunting accessories. His
collaborator was accountant Carlo
Ravizza, first as executive and
finally as attorney general. In
1910 Carlo Ravizza took over the
company and formed "C. Ravizza
and Co., formerly Brescian Arms
Manufacturers", adopting the old
trademark of the dog with the
target, and became the proprietor
of 3 stores serving
Milan.

In
1924, the company moved to Via S.
Raffaele, in the Ricordi building, where
it remained until 1964, when the present
headquarters were built in Via Hoepli 3.
The premises in Palazzo Ricordi were not
large enough to hold all the merchandise
sold by Ravizza, much of which came from
important German companies. To accommodate
this merchandise, a warehouse was set up
in Via Melegnano, with an annexed workshop
for manufacturing and repairing
firearms.

Beginning
in the late 70s there was a general period
of decline in the hunting sector, and
Ravizza suffered its effects to the point
of having to reduce its field of action,
closing its entire firearms distribution.
After a period of adjustment, of evolving
uses and customs, they took up production
and sales of firearms and sports articles,
followed by production, research and
imports of hunters' accessories and
clothing.

But
Ravizza's clientele needed more. So, among
the gunsmiths' workbenches, tailors'
worktables appeared, to produce garments
that would allow for comfortable handling
of guns.
After having perfected the best in hunting
garments, Ravizza introduced its
custom-made, classically tailored
line.
